Mona Lisa Awakening (Monere: Children of the Moon, Book 1) Mona Lisa Awakening (Monere: Children of the Moon, Book 1) A smoldering debut novel exploring the passion, hunger, and danger that can break loose in the moonlight.

From the time she was a child, Mona Lisa knew she was different-but she never knew how different until a man of otherworldly beauty appeared during her night shift in the ER. Gryphon is hurting and hunted and he attracts her as no man ever has before. He is a Mon re, one of the children of the moon-and what’s more, so is she.

Long exiled from the moon, the men of the Mon re serve-and mate with-imperious Queens who can channel the rays of their far-off homeland. Gryphon believes that Mona Lisa is a Queen- perhaps the first of Mixed Blood ever known. But her introduction to the nighttime court of the Mon re, simmering with intrigue, casual lust, and calculated cruelty, is far from smooth.
Customer Review: Quick read!
I bought book 2 at a bargain book store and almost didn’t read it when I read the reviews listed for book one, but I went ahead and ordered book one anyway. I’m glad that I did–the story of the Monere was an interesting and thrilling ride. I enjoyed it immensely and found it to be a fast read.

I was a bit taken aback by the obvious ‘borrowing’ from Anne Bishop. But, after giving it some thought here’s what I’ve come up with. The title High Lord of Hell and the term Demon dead are just that…titles and terms. Her use of the name Janelle is REALLY obvious, but no other similarities between Anne Bishop’s Janelle are present. The other thing is Mona Lisa’s healing gift which can only be accessed through sexual interaction; this is definately borrowed from Laurell K. Hamilton, but again not exact enough to be plagerism.

I’m giving this book 4 stars because I would have really liked to see Sunny come up with her own terms and titles. She is very creative and can clearly write a good story…it just seems wrong in a sense to ‘borrow’ from two really successful writers.

I would recommend these books because there really good, there a fast read and the story itself is unique, only a small portion, maybe 5 or 6 pages in all have the borrowed terms, so definately worth reading. This is the first book I’ve ever read about children of the moon.
Customer Review: HOT and thriling
Ok, she is similiar to Laurell K Hamilton. But what a way to go! I just find all the different love interests interesting, plus their new talents make me want to know more. I enjoy her writing is dark, edgy and thrilling.
